British Airways is hoping to lure holidaymakers to the warmth of the Indian Ocean with some of its lowest fares to the glamorous destinations of Sri Lanka, Mauritius and the Maldives from Gatwick.
Return fares to Colombo, the exotic capital city of Sri Lanka, are available from £626 when flights start from Gatwick on April 14 next year, and return low fares to Mauritius are available for £668 and to the Maldives for £684.
With 2,000 years of culture, Sri Lanka has a myriad of ancient sites to explore, national parks with fabulous wildlife, coastal trains and elephant-safaris and away from the coast, cool green hills with tea plantations and rainforests.
Mauritius is famous for its stunning lagoons and white-sand beaches against the dramatic backdrop of the tropical rainforest of the Black River Gorges National Park with its hidden lakes and waterfalls, fascinating markets and the warmth of the Mauritian people.
The Maldives are a series of 1,192 ancient coral islands surrounded by the cobalt-blue waters of the Indian Ocean and bathed in year-round sunshine. Fantastic diving and snorkelling gives a close-up view of the incredible marine life including manta rays and turtles.
All fares include a generous free luggage and hand baggage allowance, free on-line check-in and seat selection 24 hours before departure and complimentary food and drink on board the aircraft.
