A LIBERAL democrat stalwart was elected chairman of Horsham District Council last night (Wednesday).
Leonard Crosbie, who represents Trafalgar was appointed chairman of the council from 2012/13.
Philip Circus known for his strong views expressed in his West Sussex County Times column every week, was appointed vice chairman for the next financial year, which mean he is likely to become chairman in 2013/14.
Ray Dawe was officially elected as chairman and two new cabinet members Sue Rogers (Con, Steyning) and Helena Croft (Con, Roffey North) were appointed as cabinet members for a safer and healthier district and cabinet member for communications, special projects and Horsham town respectively.
