The woman who died when her car left the A24 at Southwater on Wednesday July 24 has been named as Lauren Jones, 19, of Quarry Road, Hurtmore, Godalming.
Emergency services were called to reports of a car on fire on the verge of the northbound carriageway, north of the Buck Barn crossroads, at 4.05pm.
Sergeant Rob Baldwin from the Sussex Police Road Policing Unit said: “Lauren tragically died when her car, a silver Ford Focus, left the road. Our thoughts are with her family and friends.
“We need to establish what happened and want to speak with anybody who witnessed the incident. Please contact Sussex Police on 101 or e-mail collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk quoting Operation Type.”
