A SINGLE storey extension to a vehicle workshop at 3 Victory Road, Horsham, to allow installation of MoT equipment was approved on Tuesday.
Plans had been revised to lower the roof from a previous refused application, using a pit for vehicle inspections rather than a ramp, Horsham District Council’s development management committee heard.
Christine Costin (LDem, Trafalgar) said she was pleased the applicant listened to concerns raised.
One of the problems was parking on the street but she said this would be self limiting as the street was so congested.
“This business has been in existence a long time and one would want to see the business progress,” she said.
Leonard Crosbie (LDem, Trafalgar) said there was support from neighbours where there had been objections.
“It’s nice to be able to support a business in Trafalgar ward,” he said.
Claire Vickers (Con, Southwater) called it a ‘perfectly sensible solution’ to the previous application and said it made sense to have MoT checks on site.
