Unemployment in Horsham district has fallen for the second time in two months, with 52 less registered out of work in November compared to October.
The jobless rate is the joint-second lowest across Sussex with Wealden at 1.5 per cent, topped only by Mid Sussex.
It fell from 1,302 to 1,250 in November, according to figures released by the ONS.
Wendy Bell, general manager at Sussex Enterprise, said: “Overall, the unemployment figures in Sussex have remained virtually static with just a marginal fall over the last three months.
“If we look at the national picture, in the third quarter, the number of people employed in the private sector rose 65,000, while public sector employment fell 24,000.
“The increase in private sector employment supports our view that Sussex businesses are able and willing to drive recovery at a time when the public sector will inevitably continue to shrink.”
