Food hygiene ratings for a small amount of businesses in the Horsham District have now been updated on the Food Standards Agency website.
A small error occurred when Horsham District Council amended the existing ratings of businesses in the Horsham District on the Food Standards Agency website (www.food.gov.uk/ratings) and the new ratings had not been displayed.
After being made aware of this error by a food business in the District, the Council took immediate steps to resolve this and these ratings have now been corrected.
Around 20 businesses were affected but all the current ratings displayed on the FSA website are now correct.
Sue Rogers, Horsham District Council’s Cabinet Member for a Safer and Healthier District, said: “I am pleased to hear that the ratings of the small amount of businesses this affected have now been quickly rectified online.
“The Food Hygiene Rating Scheme has a positive effect on encouraging businesses to raise their game, improve food safety and, most importantly, protect the public.”
Many businesses have seen the Food Hygiene Rating Scheme have a positive effect on their businesses and many take the opportunity to improve standards and request a further inspection to have their rating reviewed.
