The bandstand in the Carfax will be decorated by partners Non Stop Party Shop and will host a storytelling witch for children and local group performances from 10am, before giving over to a special Hallowe’en programme of music from 2pm put together by the Festival of Sound.
Elsewhere, the Carfax Local Produce Market will be themed for the day. Look out for the traders’ own pumpkin competition with themed items from a number of traders.
A ghostly white spooky piano and pianist, sponsored by Pret A Manger, will roam the town in search of willing victims, no sorry, audiences.
Another new feature this year is the Ghoulish Ghost Bus, sponsored by Harper James estate agents and Sainsbury’s, located in the Carfax opposite The Crown pub, which for a small charge will offer children the chance to carve and decorate their own pumpkins ready for Hallowe’en.
Scary faces will be being painted by regular favourites, Busy Days, on the mosaic in Swan Walk shopping centre.
From 3:30pm, everyone is invited to enter their own decorated pumpkin in a competition near Panino’s café in the Carfax to find the town’s best decorated pumpkin. Look out for more details soon.
