There’s been lots of interest in Horsham District Council’s private lettings landlords’ forum taking place in Southwater near Horsham next week.
Private lettings landlords and those interested in becoming a landlord in the Horsham District are invited to attend a free forum, organised by the district council, to speak to others already operating in the private rented market.
Following the successful launch of HDC’s private sector rental scheme last year, the council is now launching a free landlords’ forum.
It will be run as an informal get together for landlords and prospective landlords to gain information and speak to others already working in the private rented sector.
The first meeting will be held at Beeson House, Lintot Square in Southwater, West Sussex, on Tuesday October 23 at 6.30pm.
There is ample free parking available in Lintot Square and light refreshments will also be provided.
The aim of this first meeting is to introduce the council’s existing scheme for private landlords and to provide an update on current legislation, along with information on upcoming amendments to the Housing Benefit rules and what the Green Deal means to landlords.
Landlords will also have the opportunity to raise any current or past issues – and it is very likely they will not be alone in their experiences.
Sue Rogers, HDC cabinet member for a safer & healthier district, said: “We would like to encourage as many landlords and prospective landlords as possible to attend.
“We wish to encourage a good working relationship with the private sector which can work to everyone’s advantage.”
