Wisborough Green band The Riotous Brothers have entered a national competition to win a place at the Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival in Canada.
Unsigned bands or singers producing original work can enter the competition’s first stage via YouTube.
Successful acts will be chosen to perform at regional heats - the south east’s is at the Brunswick in Hove in January - with winners and one Judges Choice entry going through to a final in London.
The overall winner will perform at next year’s Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival in Fredericton, New Brunswick. Paul Long of the Riotous Brothers said: “It would be a great opportunity to get through to the New Brunswick Battle of the Blues heat in Brighton and the London final. “Obviously to take our music to Canada and to play at such a major festival as the Harvest Jazz and Blues would be an amazing experience – something to treasure.”
