A firm of business, tax and charity advisers will hold the next of a series of quarterly charities breakfast clubs on Tuesday September 11 .

Starting at 8.15am the Breakfast Club, which has a free membership, was founded two years ago in order to keep charities informed and updated on the issues which impact them and the sector, and its next meeting will be run by Russell New, focusing on ethical investing and pensions auto enrolment.

At their office in Steyning, Russell New’s team of advisers will welcome Sally Booker, of Global Financial Limited, who will talk through the best ways for charities to prepare for the pensions auto enrolment legislation, which is due to be rolled out by the Government this autumn.

Ms Booker will also talk on the issue of ethical investing, as with ethical investing of surplus funds being personal to each charity. This presentation will help delegates adopt a plan to move forward in this regard.

Mark Cummins, charities and education partner at Russell New said: “The pensions auto enrolment legislation announced by the Government is due to come into play in October, and while it is positive news for employees it will have implications for charities.

“At Russell New we feel we have a duty to advise our charity clients as much as possible on this subject, so that they can be prepared for the effects it will have.

“Likewise, ethical investing is another hot topic for the charity sector. Our guest speaker Sally Booker is well placed to speak on this issue, as a qualified ethical advisor who has given advice to both corporate and personal clients for more than 30 years.

“Above all, the aim of the Breakfast Club continues to be to help those working within the charity sector, including accountants and auditors, gain practical and impartial advice that will ensure the charity gets the help it needs to carry on helping others.”

The Charities Breakfast Club was put together to assist charity clients and contacts with keeping abreast of topical issues in the sector which are of interest to them.
