STAFF at Tesco in Pulborough dressed as cowboys, Indians and Eskimos last week to help raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society and Alzheimer Scotland.
Just under £1,100 was raised for Tesco’s charity of the year when staff were asked to dress up in international costumes.
Much to the amusement of the customers they were served by cowboys, Indians, Mexicans, Australians and Eskimos to mention just a few.
Mark Cheeseman, store manager said: “Thank you to all our customers for supporting the staff in their dress up and donating so generously throughout the week.
“We are delighted to have raised so much money in a week for such a worthy cause.”
Together, Alzheimer’s Society and Alzheimer Scotland are Tesco’s Charity of the Year 2011 and will help raise £5 million to build a better future for people with dementia.
The partnership will fund new research, dementia support professionals to help those living with the condition and a Dementia Community Roadshow which is travelling around the UK raising awareness of dementia and encouraging people worried about their memory to visit their GPs.
