Horsham police say they will try to stop a party from happening in Southwater after invites on social media got ‘out of hand’.
Nearly 1,000 people have replied to the Facebook invitation saying they will go to the party - held in a public area in the village over the weekend (Saturday March 29 to Sunday March 30).
The page is entitled ‘Party’ and the description reads: “Bring your own drink.”
But Horsham police are warning people not to attend.
PCSO Emma Walsh said invitations are ‘getting a little bit out of hand’ and ‘officers will be in attendance to stop the party from happening.
She said: “The event is taking place on private property.
“We will be attending for their own protection and for the local residents.
“It is outside and can cause alarm and distress to the community.”
