An accident closed the A23 for a few hours this afternoon (Monday March 3) near Handcross.
The A23 was blocked and there was queueing traffic northbound at Handcross.
Reports were that the incident involved two lorries in the roadworks area.
The incident caused long queues but the road is now open and the tailbacks have cleared
