Thieves have stolen more than one hundred items of fur clothing in a smash and grab raid from a specialist retail unit in Cranleigh this week.

The incident happened on Monday evening (December 9) sometime between 5.45pm and 10.30pm when offenders smashed their way through a door at the front of Soho Furriers at Smithbrook Kilns in Horsham Road.

The clothing, including gilets, jackets, stoles, snoods, and hats were all made of, or trimmed with, fur and were grabbed from hanging rails.

Detective Constable James Hilton investigating said: “This was an audacious burglary in which distinctive items have been stripped from the shop and I am appealing for anyone who may have seen any suspicious individual or behaviour to contact Surrey Police.

“Similarly I need to hear from anyone who may see or be offered these items for sale in unusual circumstances to let me know. Surrey Police will not tolerate such brazen offending and will do everything possible to bring such offenders to justice.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Surrey Police on 101 quoting reference 45130005360. Alternatively the independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.

The incident is just a month after thousands of pounds worth of jewellery was taken during a smash and grab raid at a Smithbrook Kilns shop.
