The Senior Chamber Choir of Christ’s Hospital have reached the finals of the Barnados School Choir of the Year Competition 2014.
The final will be held at the Barbican Hall, London, in March 2014 when overall 24 choirs will perform in front of a panel of judges, chaired by Douglas Coombes MBE composer, conductor and music consultant of the BBC Songs of Praise school choir competition.
The two winning choirs will be invited to sing at the Barnados Young Supporters’ Concert in the summer at the Royal Albert Hall, London.
Christ’s Hospital’s senior choir, ‘Schola Cantorum’ also performed a Christmas carol at their community carol service on Friday (December 6).
They sung ‘Carol for the Bells’ which was conducted by director of music, Andrew Cleary.
