THE WHOLE school community worked on travel safety and sustainability to gain Arunside its Travelwise Level 2 award.
The travel team from West Sussex County Council and school chair of governors Diana Searle were at the Blackbridge Lane primary school’s celebration assembly.
Carol Slight, headteacher, thanked the school’s two voluntary lollipop ladies who worked tirelessly to help keen the children safe on the roads.
Travelwise leader Mrs Sara Lee said: “I am delighted to receive this award to acknowledge the sterling work that children, parents, staff and governors have put into making our local community safe on the road.
“Being safe is a life skill and Arunside pupils are now very aware of this. We are working together to gain Level 3 in 2012.”
