Around ten litres of fuel were spilled across a road in Ashington on Saturday (November 16).
The spill came from a kit car which was on the B2133 in the village.
The petrol was diluted using a fire services hose reel and the area sanded.
The emergency services arrived at the scene just before 3pm.
