THE historic market town of Horsham is included in the newly published 2012 Enjoy Sussex Visitor and Accommodation Guide.
The guide is being billed as ‘essential to the celebrations’ of what is to be an epic year with the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the London Olympics, as well as all year round.
It provides detailed information on the attractions and towns in the area and the redesigned website www.enjoysussex.info offers information about the latest events as well as online booking for a range of quality accommodation.
Roger Paterson, Horsham District Council’s cabinet member for the local economy, said: “People around the world will be watching Britain in 2012.
“We want to encourage visitors to look beyond London and use the Enjoy Sussex Visitor Guide and website to help them discover the delights of our beautiful corner of Sussex, less than one hour’s journey time from London.”
The free 2012 Enjoy Sussex Guide is produced in partnership by Horsham, Mid-Sussex, Lewes and Wealden District Councils, working together to promote sustainable tourism within an area stretching west to east from Pulborough to Burwash, and north from Horsham and the Ashdown Forest to Steyning and Cuckmere Haven in the south.
The Enjoy Sussex area includes the South Downs National Park, the Seven Sister Cliffs and the Ashdown Forest.
Its landscape is quintessentially English and its market towns including Horsham, Lewes, and Uckfield, are steeped in history.
Tourism is a keystone of the local economy with visitors coming from all over the world.
