CUSTOMERS visiting the Co-operative store in Cranleigh today (Thursday) may find staff in an array of international headgear.
Staff will be wearing traditional hats from countries around the world to mark the official launch of the United Nations International Year of Co-operatives.
Michael Fear, manager of the Village Way store, said: “Thanks to the International Year of Co-operatives, everyone from the Alsager food store to the Ibaraki fishing co-operative in Japan can celebrate the responsible way we do business.”
The International Year of Co-operatives will highlight how through its values and principles ‘Co-operative enterprises build a better world’.
