Elections for 71 West Sussex County Council seats and by elections for two Horsham District Council seats will take place in the in May this year.
County Council elections take place every four years and all 71 seats will be up for election on Thursday 2 May 2013 along with the district council seats of Cowfold, Shermanbury and West Gristead and Chantry.
Polling stations will open from 7am to 10pm on Thursday 2 May 2013.
There are 12 divisions up for election in the Horsham District area for the West Sussex County Council elections, these are: Billingshurst, Bramber Castle, Henfield, Holbrook, Horsham Hurst, Horsham Riverside, Horsham Tanbridge & Broadbridge Heath, Pulborough, Roffey, Southwater & Nuthurst, Storrington and Warnham & Rusper.
Horsham District Council manages the electoral register for voters in the Horsham District and residents are only able to vote in an election if their name is on the electoral register.
The timetable for the election starts on Monday 25 March 2013, when the notice of election is being published.
Voters can apply for a new postal vote, change or cancel an existing postal vote or postal proxy facility or apply to be added to the electoral register up until Wednesday 17 April 2013.
Those who want to make a new application to vote by proxy (appoint someone else to vote on their behalf) or to change or cancel an existing proxy vote (except postal proxies and medical emergencies) have until 5pm on Wednesday 24 April 2013.
